(as of today 8-24-2006. It's status is Patent Applied for. It should be already at Patent Pending).
Please don't catch on the number.
- At the end of this thead I will post a link to the sketch that illustrates the technology how to build a 1 x 1 x 2 (meter). On my rough study; the electricity it generates more than the need of an US average home.
- If you scaled it up (let say 50 x 50 x 100) we are talking on multi-multi-megawatt power plan.
- In my "lab", my experience I have made two side by side: One 1' x 1' x 1'; and another 1' diagmeter "normal turbine". Mine is hundreds times the torque. (Please experiment it yourself).
Happy posting

1. What is the wear and tear on your machine? If a typical turbine can last 25 years and yours can only last 3, it will be a bust economically.
2. From your diagram it seems it only handles wind from a single direction? If that is the case, it should reduce power production by well over 50%.
3. Can the turbine be built to withstand winds at 180 mph? If the torque is 100 times greater as you claim, then the wind speed must be significantly faster. If you double the wind speed (increasing power 8 fold) you then could only handle wind speeds of 90 mph with a turbine rated for 180 mph. Likewise, to make this work your tubine would have to handle wind speeds of 360 mph??!
4. Are you serious about scaling this up? The rotors on a large utility scale wind turbine are the length of a football field. You intend to make a building that is 150 feet high next to this turbine? What are the economics of doing that?
5. Suppose you do all that. What are the stresses on the axle of this design? Wind power is proportional to square of the swept area. This design cuts the swept area in half, reducing power by 75%. On top of that constraints on your axle will probably require you to shring the width significantly. Putting wind turbines side by side would require complicated gears and creates significant problems with turbulence and drag as the wind from one turbine would interfere with the next.
Hi Stuart.
I only can anwer questions on technical (the best I can) But I can not answer and I don't want to answer accusation, speculation.
Before you do like "3 years" or "75%"
You need to hace the data to back up or it should back up itself using common senses.
Be constructive Please.
